2010 Travels
Hong Kong (Nov, 2010)
Hong Kong, like most cities, is surrounded by buildings. Most of the inhabitants there live in buildings themselves on small spaces. Likewise, the hotel room we stayed in was equally small although it was comfortable enough for its cheap price (we chose a cheap one since the hotels there are really expensive). I was never fond of visiting cities, I have always been a nature lover and I preferred nature every time I go on vacation but what I enjoyed about the country was their cool weather. November was a perfect time to visit. The exchange rate during the time of our visit was HKD 1 = P6-7 still most of the prices for food and clothes were quite expensive when converted to peso. The prices for cameras though were cheaper (Nikon and Canon). My husband even bought my first DSLR there. Food was great, its like an Asian Fusion out there. It was a good thing one of our friends who was with us was a resident. She toured us around.

Macao, China (Nov, 2010)
The heaven for gamblers--this city is known as the Las Vegas of the East. Casinos are legal in the area and so it is surrounded by a couple--from Sands to the Venetian and the Plaza Macao. They even offer free bus rides for you to get to the casinos. Besides the gambling there are of course a couple of tourist spots which are worth one's visit. I have to say that it was quite a quiet city during the day. There were only a few cars and a few people on the road. I bet that they all come out when night time strikes.

Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao (Oct, 2010)
Cagayan de Oro is known as the City of Golden Friendship (don't ask me why but it just is). It is famous for its White Water Rafting Adventure. I highly recommend that you experience this some time in your life. It was great and something different from the usual snorkelling and swimming activities on water.
Food wise CDO is known for their Chicken Inasal and they make great ones around the area. The food was quite cheap too. You'd definitely enjoy food trip. For pasalubong you could bag boxes of Pastel. For more information on this city, click on the link(s) below.

Camiguin, Mindanao (Oct, 2010)
Camiguin is a small island in Mindanao. It is not heavily populated, which I loved about it. It is a quiet province boasting of protected nature. It is a perfect get away from life's hastiness. I greatly enjoyed the White Island, which had a pristine white sand and clear waters. To get to know other interesting spots in Camiguin click the link above.
Bukidnon, Mindanao (Oct, 2010)
Bukidnon is filled with greenery and mountains. It is known for its Del Monte Pineapple Farm. It has a cool weather which we enjoyed. Since most of its tourist spots are far from each other, we only got to visit two. For more information on this click on the link above.
Batanes (July, 2010)
The islands of Batanes are beautiful and enchanting and they are like no other in the Philippines. Its like stepping in a different world once you get a feel of the island. The landscape of Batanes is also distinct from other Philippine provinces - steep cliffs, rolling hills, deep canyons and boulder-lined shores. The Ivatans, as the inhabitants of Batanes are called, built stone walled houses with thick thatched roofs to withstand typhoons, which to this day, are the most noticeable feature of the land (especially those found at Sabtang).
The best description I could come up with Batanes is that it is a place where the sky joins the sea and the sea intertwines with land. The very picture of Batanes is poetry in itself. I have been to countless places here in the Philippines and a little sight seeing abroad but nothing, and I mean nothing, could ever compare to how Batanes has captivated me.

Bohol (June, 2010)
The Panglao Island in Bohol has always been my favorite beach, and stepping on its shores the second time around made me fall in love with it even more. Besides its famous beaches and snorkeling areas, there are other interesting spots in Bohol that tourists could visit. There's the famous Chocolate Hills, the Loboc River, Baclayon Church and so on and so forth. It's screaming with sheer nature and I'd always carry a special place for Bohol in my heart.

Tree Top Adventure, Subic (April, 2010)
Tree Top Adventure is a park where the beauty of unspoiled forest presents itself as a perfect backdrop for a holiday activity. One could experience nature tripping from a breathtaking view – from 100 feet above the ground! With jungle trails comprised of platforms nestled on branches, suspension bridges, and the world’s first motorized canopy tour. Activities such as the Interactive Free Fall, Tree drop--rappelling from a platform 60 feet above the ground down to the surface, “Superman” Ride--zip lining above the trees face down and the Silver Surfer, among others, are the rides that are a must try.

Singapore (April, 2010)
Singapore is a clean city with disciplined inhabitants. They follow the traffic lights and doin't litter and smoke just anywhere. We felt quite safe walking during the dawn. Even the taxis would charge you accordingly without added costs. It is a rather busy city where people hurry to get to work and walk fast to catch the bus and the MTR. Commuting is advised since their public transportations are quite convenient. Their MTR for instance is connected to major malls and places. Before it was just famous for Sentosa, but recently the Universal Studio was finished and this you must see.

Bali, Indonesia (April, 2010)
Bali resembled the provinces of the Philippines, its all nature and beaches. Besides the enthralling sites, they got very beautiful hotels, which my husband and I loved (the four poster beds were really nifty). They have a rich culture which they stick to and most of them practice Hinduism to the core. Our guide even told us that they could not travel far for long periods because they got to practice their rituals on interval. What I found the most interesting though was the Balinese architecture.

Tagaytay (April, 2010)
It was my last summer outing with Nutri-Asia, I did attend but I left early with my girls and Vinci. Tagaytay known for its cool weather was perfect for summer and so, we decided to go there for a food trip and to simply hang. It was Gen's turf, definitely a go. I wouldn't have to drive anyway, I left my car at the office I just rode with Mann as did Vinci.

Pueblo Por la Playa, Pagbilao Quezon (March, 2010)
Being fond of traveling, Oliver and I decided to get married on the beach. We visited Pueblo a year go and I fell in love with its ambiance. It is a Mexican inspired residential and country club with white sand beach, infinity pool and picturesque view. It offers luxury and comfort within its villas and mansions. It was a dreamy place. Nothing could be more perfect than the resort for our special day. Although we were not actually members we were able to pull all our resources (human wise especially) to get a booking. It was as if we were meant to wed there.

Hundred Islands, Pangasinan (Feb, 2010)
The Hundred Islands National Park is located at Alaminos, Pangasinan abut 5 hours drive from Manila. Among the 123 (124 during low tide) islands only the Governor, Quezon, and Children's Island were developed for tourism, the rest remain virgin. The islands are actually ancient corals in the seabed of an ancient sea which are mushroom-shaped made up of limestone and as has been said, of corals. Although lacking of beautiful beaches and clear waters, it is worth one's visit having a uniqueness of its own with a multitude of islands situated at one place.

Anawangin Cove, Zambales (Feb, 2010)
I already described in full detail Anawangin Cove's beauty in my 2011 account. The first time we got there though was for our prenup shoot 2010. I had no idea such a place existed not until our photographers suggested the site for our shoot. There were a couple of soon to be wed partners who did their shoot in the same area, Rica Paralejo and husband for instance did their prenup shoot here and I loved the photos I saw. We wanted shots with nature and water and Anawangin has every little detail on its scenery. It even has a good view of the sky. It was perfect for our beach wedding. Oliver and I were glad we chose this place. It was a wonder.

Cebu (Jan, 2010)
If it wasn't for the free flight, hotel and food, I wouldn't go but lucky me our company's Sales Conference was held at Shangri-la Mactan and so I had a free travel. I just had my flight extended (which we could actually do) to explore on our own (with my other team mates). I enjoyed much of Shangri-la's luxury plus our room was the bomb! It was spacious, pretty and had a bath tub plus a balcony.
Since it was my last sales conference I made sure I enjoyed myself. Click on the link(s) below for more of Cebu.
