Ocean Park, HK
-November, 2010-
The second tourist site we visited in HK was the Ocean Park. Once again, Jho's friends accompanied us. If Disneyland was a place better suited for kids, Ocean Park is suitable for all ages. It was reminiscent of Enchanted Kingdom if you'd have to compare it to any amusement park here in our own country, only bigger and better. We got there early in the morning. Jho advised that we get there early since it was huge and it would take time for us to explore the entire park. The entrance fee was at HKD 250 or P1,500.

Since most of the rides that we'd enjoy are at the Summit, we rode a cable car to get there. It was able to accomodate all six of us.
The first ride we had was the Mine Train. Based on my standards, this was a mind blowing ride with lots of sudden turns and dips, it kept my heart racing all throughout. Oliver filmed us during the ride and I was shouting my lungs out the whole time. I was so nervous as we lined up I forgot to take pictures. After that we tried the Raging River. Since I was on Oliver's back I didn't get wet, he shielded me from all the water. He was soaked though.
The first two rides we had got us hungry so we had chicken for lunch at the Golden Fried Chicken eating with our hands covered in plastic gloves. It was a bright idea! To get the food we ate burning, we visited Atoll Reef to view the myriad of marine life they housed.
From the reef we walked a couple of blocks away and visited the Chinese Sturgeon Aquarium Yangtze Exploration. This is where you'd find the aquarium on the ceiling.
After two exploring two main aquariums Oliver, Jho and Kaye decided to ride the Dragon or the roller coaster of the park. Eric and I skipped the ride. We didn't have the heart to try it. The Mine Train was enough. It was definitely not my cup of tea. We waited for them to finish instead.
We haven't seen a show yet and the afternoon was getting late, we rushed towards the Sea Dreams show and thankfully we were on time. It was a dolphin's and seal's show. They were highly trained and quite amusing.
After the show, the park was about to close. Jho, Oliver and Kaye rode the Abyss for the last time as Eric and I waited for them. It was a heart dropping ride. You would be raised to a certain number of feet way above and from there you'd suddenly drop to the ground with great speed. It was way too much for me but I think the three loved it. It would be a matter of life and death before one could coax me into riding that.
It was time to say goodbye , we rode the Ocean Express heading to the Waterfront, which we didn't get to explore. Ocean Park's The Summit would take your whole day away. You definitely need 2 days to fully cover the whole area. It was way bigger than Disneyland.

When we exited, the line for the bus was heavy. We decided not to wait any more for comfortable seats and stood in the middle. We had to hurry for we'd still visit the Peak that night.
