Universal Studios Singapore (USS)
-April, 2010-
Coming back from Bali, we just checked in at Geylang (yes SG's red district) and quickly went to USS to complete our Singapore tour. We arrived early in the morning. Since Oliver was already familiar with the MTR we were confident as we commuted towards our destination. We got there hassle free. It was the soft opening of the park when we went there. We paid about SGD 50 or P1,800 per head but I deem the rates are higher since we got there off peak and it was, as I said, a soft opening at that time. The Madagascar and Sci-fi portions of the park were still under construction but the rest were okay.

Once inside USS, we started to explore what it has to offer.
We watched the Steven Spielberg show. It was amazing. We felt like we were part of the fire and the storm, the animation was so realistic. We also had our photos take with a couple of the USS characters such as Kung Fu Panda, Charlie Chaplin and Betty Boop.
Next stop was Sci-fi City. The roller coaster was not yet functional. There were tall alien entities around the area though--real shiny!
Ancient Egypt was up next. This is where we rode a ghost roller coaster. I think I screamed my lungs out during the ride. It didn't help that the kid beside me was crying. I was terrified, not by the 4D pharaoh/ egyptian ghosts, but of the ride's ups and downs. It was more than what I could handle. They have very cool lockers though.
Back at Hollywood we watched Monster Rock. It was entertaining watching Frankenstein, Dracula and the rest of the monsters dance and sing to modern songs. Oliver and I thoroughly enjoyed the show.
For lunch we had Pratas.
Back to our exploring we watched a live action show at Waterworld. As we entered the theater, guys with water guns shot at us. We got a little wet. It was kinda funny and all part of the show. The jumps, jet ski moves and explosions were something to wow about. The show was really cool!
Off to Magascar after. We barely caught the show.
From Madagascar we went to Shrek's Shreaking Shack, Oliver's home. Haha.
Near Shrek's is Far Far Away Land.
At Far Far Away we rode the Enchanted Airways, the junior roller coaster. I enjoyed that a lot!
We also got to watch Shrek's 4D Adventure. This was the bomb! The best I had at USS.
After Far Far Away we went to Mel's Drive In in front of which, the Kowabangu show was held. Malibu Barbie and the rest of the cast danced and sang with much gusto.
The pratas we had for lunch was not sufficient to keep me going the whole day. Oliver and I were both hungry. We used coupons given when you buy tickets and had noodles at Hollywood China Bistro.
More walking after eating, we watched the Street Boys perform at the Palace. They still got the vibe!
Pasalubong time at Universal Studio Store.
The park was about to close, we rushed towards Jurassic Park and the only ride we got to try was the Canopy Flyer.
We left late in the afternoon enjoying Oliver's purchase of a dinosaur tumbler whom everyone envied as we got out of the park. A mom even tried buying it from him. He felt so cool. Haha.
Before leaving USS's vicinity we found the great lockers again! It is a computer operated locker with a pin code to ensure your stuff's safety. Just got to add that here because it was the first time I got to use one of these babies.
We left for Sentosa, we still got to try the Luge as I promised Oliver. I enjoyed that the first time and we still got to watch a show.
