Pueblo Por la Playa, Pagbilao Quezon
-March, 2010-
Both my parents spent their childhood in Samar while Oliver's dad came from Sta. Cruz Laguna and her mom from Pampanga, those are pretty far from Quezon. That's why people wonder why we decided to get married in a province where we don't actually have roots from but we fell in love and that was that. It was a chance invitation from Oliver's former boss, Ms. Mary, who has become our family friend, after new year of 2009. Alcala, who was then a congressman, invited Ms. Mary's husband, who worked with politicians, to take a vacation at his resort. He was allowed to take family and friends with him and lucky us, we were invited. It was the beginning of dreamy wedding plans and when Oliver actually proposed, it was a no brainer, we had to get married at Pueblo or have no wedding at all. "The Secret" worked for us this time, we wanted and thought that we'd get married at Pueblo and as the mind wove beautiful thoughts about our wedding it turned into absolute reality and so on the 20th of March, 2010, our wedding was held at the place I most dreamed of and almost lusted for, Pueblo Por la Playa at Pagbilao, Quezon.

We both woke up early for the preparation and had an early shoot for our video. I had always been fond of the beach and standing in on one on my wedding day was the next best gift Oliver fulfilled (the best of course was having him in my life most exclusively).
We had aqua and silver as our theme and had a beautiful table set up c/o our florist Obet Reyes and Pueblo itself. Everyone of my suppliers were helpful. I got most of them from Quezon to cut on costs and I was not sorry for everyone did a superb job.
The ceremony area was also beautifully crafted. I just gave them the picture of how I want my altar to look like and viola they were able to pull it off. Obet Reyes sure did made sure my ceremony site looked dashing. It was a few feet away from our reception area.Oliver and I are both Catholics but they won't allow beach weddings, we opted for an Aglipayan (also known as the Philippine Independent Church) wedding instead. They had the same beliefs and bible as the Catholic Church but their priests could marry. Actually, I have high regard for this sect, they are far more liberal and open minded.
Our wedding would start by 3pm so before that Oliver and I were both ready to have each other forever. Our wedding coordinator, Wave Events, headed by Miles Royales made our preparation and the wedding day itself smooth and easy for the both of us.
What would become of our wedding day without our family? Of course they were around to celebrate with us.
Our walk down the aisle was perfect. The bubbles matched the serenity of the scene. I felt the sand upon my feet. I chose to walk bare foot with only foot thongs on (as did my bridesmaids, they had no choice). Being close to nature on our special day made me feel close to God Himself.
The ceremony lasted for less than an hour. We had the chance to say our personal vows during the beginning of the ceremony. Oliver and I both had memorable vows. We ended the whole thing with a sweet sweet kiss to seal infinity.
After the ceremony a couple of photos were taken before our reception.
Our reception was only a few feet away so we had to hurry for our entrance. We didn't want the guests to wait for long.
We proceeded with the program before dinner the first of which was the cake cutting. We had a beach themed cake with mini cakes and cup cakes too. It was made by Hearts and Bells located at Binondo. Nona, a friend, gave us the cake topper as a wedding present. Cool!
We didn't hire a separate caterer for the wedding, since food at Pueblo was superb we got them to cook the food for our wedding too.
Like most couples, we were not able to eat to our heart's content, in fact we ate too little. All the excitement of the day just gets to you you'd forget about food.
The usual parts of the reception pushed through such as the garter and bouquet throw, the speeches, picture taking and such. The highlight of our night though was our first dance leading to the fireworks display. The song "So Close," Enchanted's soundtrack played in the background. It was like a fairy tale.
To end our wedding celebration before the drinks and merriment we were supposed to have fire lanterns float with our guest's messages on them, only it was too windy we failed to make it a success. It was a fun activity though.
The night ended with sheer bliss.
